Good morning,Allegany town officials have officially approved a new comprehensive plan, wrapping up two years of work on a roadmap for the community’s future. The new document replaces a 15-year-old plan and focuses on five major goals, including boosting economic development and expanding water and sewer services to support growth. One immediate change for parents is a Ralph Wilson Junior Foundation grant that will extend the town's summer recreation program hours this year.Voters across Allegany County are heading to the polls next Tuesday for annual school budget votes. While most districts are staying within the state’s tax cap, Scio Central is the only district in the county proposing a budget that requires a 60-percent "supermajority" override to pass. Meanwhile, Wellsville is proposing the largest spending increase at nine percent, though the district actually expects a slight decrease in the total property tax levy.And New York farmers are launching their annual road safety campaign as planting season hits high gear. The Farm Bureau is reminding rural drivers that crashes involving tractors are five times more likely to be fatal than standard accidents.
